In April 2021 Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Drawing (EYE) by Nam June Paik. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 76,500.00 (€ 8,190.52), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nam June Paik achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fat Boy in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 4,280,000.00 (€ 503,667.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Drawing (EYE) von Nam June Paik zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 76.500,00 (€ 8.190,52) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nam June Paik erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fat Boy im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.280.000,00 (€ 503.667,21).
