Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Ichimura Uzaemon XV (1874-1945) as Iriya no Naoji; Kataoka Naojiro, in the play Kumo ni magou Ueno no hatsuhara, 1925 Onoe Matsusuke IV (1843-1928) as Inga monoshi Kohei, in the play Imashimegusa susuki no nozarashi, 1925 Nakamura Senjaku (b. 1931) by Natori Shunsen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,250.00 (€ 879.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Natori Shunsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen) in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 25,850.00 (€ 29,395.04).

Im September 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ichimura Uzaemon XV (1874-1945) as Iriya no Naoji; Kataoka Naojiro, in the play Kumo ni magou Ueno no hatsuhara, 1925 Onoe Matsusuke IV (1843-1928) as Inga monoshi Kohei, in the play Imashimegusa susuki no nozarashi, 1925 Nakamura Senjaku (b. 1931) von Natori Shunsen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.250,00 (€ 879,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Natori Shunsen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen) im März 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.8
