Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Over the water, Newbury by Neil Cawthorne was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 748.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Neil Cawthorne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Full Cry in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,297.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Over the water, Newbury von Neil Cawthorne kam im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 748,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Neil Cawthorne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Full Cry im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.465,00 (€ 7.297,87).
