This artwork by Nellie Mae Rowe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2021. In the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction, the work Swimmer, circa 1970 sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,511.33) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nellie Mae Rowe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Orange Mule Prancing, 1980 sold at auction in January 2019 with the realized price of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,643.79).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nellie Mae Rowe erzielte im Januar 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
