Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Renée Fleming (A Sketch) by Nelson Shanks was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,485.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nelson Shanks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana, Princess of Wales in January last year with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 179,807.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Renée Fleming (A Sketch) von Nelson Shanks kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.485,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nelson Shanks erzielen.
