The work A Triptych: The Assumption of the Virgin with Saint Thomas receiving the Girdle, with Saints Jerome, Margaret, Bridget Birgitta of Sweden and Catherine of Sweden; the left wing: The Nativity, with the Annunciation to the Shepherds beyond, the Angel by Neri di Bicci was sold in the Important Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2002. The price achieved of GBP 116,650.00 (€ 186,061.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Neri di Bicci - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Martyrdom of Saint Januarius: panel from a predella, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).
