Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work The Adoration Of The Christ Child With The Young Saint John The Baptist by Neri di Bicci. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 98,468.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Neri di Bicci have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Martyrdom of Saint Januarius: panel from a predella in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Adoration Of The Christ Child With The Young Saint John The Baptist von Neri di Bicci zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 98.468,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Neri di Bicci auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Martyrdom of Saint Januarius: panel from a predella im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 325.250,00 (€ 413.233,79).
