two engravings, including The Ocean, 1550, on laid paper, without watermark, a fine impression of Robert-Dumesnil's first state (of three), printing with many wiping marks and the guidelines clearly visible, trimmed outside the borderline, a few vertical flattened folds, the upper right corner disturbed, otherwise in good condition, framed; and The River Tiber, circa 1545-1570, on laid paper, watermark Fleur-de-Lys in Circle (Briquet 7317, circa 1566-75), a good but slightly later impression of

This artwork by Nicolas Beatrizet achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Two allegorical Figures sold for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,613.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas Beatrizet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Annunciation in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 58,559.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 90 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicolas Beatrizet erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit Two allegorical Figures für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.613,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolas Beatrizet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Annunciation im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.500,00 (€ 58.559,75).
