Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Christmas Coach by Norman Rockwell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 996,500.00 (€ 837,535.72), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Rockwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saying Grace in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 46,085,000.00 (€ 33,445,823.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Christmas Coach von Norman Rockwell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 996.500,00 (€ 837.535,72) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Rockwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saying Grace im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.085.000,00 (€ 33.445.823,35).
