In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction, which included the work Lush by Odinakachi Okoroafor. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,697.91), 53% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Odinakachi Okoroafor; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Spinster sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of GBP 15,750.00 (€ 18,781.32).

Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lush von Odinakachi Okoroafor zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.697,91) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Odinakachi Okoroafor; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Spinster im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 15.750,00 (€ 18.781,32).
