Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2002 Christies in New York held the auction A PRIVATE COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS AND PAINTINGS, which included the work Hanakarakasa sanpukutsui hidari (Flower-design umbrellas, the left sheet of a triptych) by Okumura Masanobu. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,780.00 (€ 4,838.55), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Okumura Masanobu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu I in March last year with an auction result of USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,260.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion A PRIVATE COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS AND PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hanakarakasa sanpukutsui hidari (Flower-design umbrellas, the left sheet of a triptych) von Okumura Masanobu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.780,00 (€ 4.838,55) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Okumura Masanobu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu I im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.260,43).
