Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg, which included the work Yuagari (After bath) by Onchi Koshiro. The price achieved of USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,037.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Onchi Koshiro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bijin Shiki (Beauty in Each Season), which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,669.40).
