Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venus and the Looking Glass by Orlando Greenwood was sold in the The Contents of Harrington House, Leamington Spa, auction at Christies in London in May 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 659.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Orlando Greenwood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Piano Solo in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 6,854.00).

Die Arbeit Venus and the Looking Glass von Orlando Greenwood wurde im Mai 2000 in der Auktion The Contents of Harrington House, Leamington Spa, bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 659,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
