This artwork by Pacita Abad achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Shanghai in September 2017. In the First Open | Shanghai auction, the work Somewhere Over The Rainbow sold for CNY 144,000.00 (€ 18,321.51) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pacita Abad have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orange Punch in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 75,112.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pacita Abad erzielte im September 2017 bei Christies in Shanghai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open | Shanghai wurde die Arbeit Somewhere Over The Rainbow für CNY 144.000,00 (€ 18.321,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CNY 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pacita Abad auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orange Punch im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 75.112,47).
