Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pat Steir could be acquired at Christies in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 21st Century Evening Sale auction, the work Morning Moon changed hands for USD 1,300,000.00 (€ 1,259,323.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Other works by Pat Steir have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2018 by the work Elective Affinity Waterfall at USD 2,295,000.00 (€ 1,966,580.98).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Pat Steir konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Morning Moon für USD 1.300.000,00 (€ 1.259.323,84) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Pat Steir wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2018 die Arbeit Elective Affinity Waterfall mit USD 2.295.000,00 (€ 1.966.580,98).
