Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (from Propo-Series) (Peaches) by Paul McCarthy was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening auction at Phillips in London in October 2009. The price achieved of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 57,684.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul McCarthy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tripod in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,045,000.00 (€ 1,836,551.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (from Propo-Series) (Peaches) von Paul McCarthy wurde im Oktober 2009 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 57.684,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul McCarthy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tripod im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.045.000,00 (€ 1.836.551,41).
