Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Paul Signac achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in November 2021. In the Collection Jean-Claude Bellier auction, the work Antibes, vu de Juan-les-Pins sold for EUR 37,800.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Signac achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Concarneau, calme du matin (Opus no. 219, larghetto) in November last year with an auction result of USD 39,320,000.00 (€ 38,089,702.61).
