Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell, which included the work The World by Philip Guston. The price achieved of EUR 491,400.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 350,000.00 – 550,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Guston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Strong Light in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 24,393,000.00 (€ 21,611,588.55).
