In the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 auction, the work Trompe-L'Œil With A Crucifix sold for EUR 30,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prospero Mallerini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Trompe L'Oeil Vanitas Still Life With A Bronze Crucifix, A Bronze Statuette Of A Putto Holding An Unlit Candle, A Skull, An Open Book, An Aspersorium With An Olive Branch, And A Grisaille Of The Madonna, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 103,000.00 (€ 69,402.33).
