This artwork by Ram Kumar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Girl) sold for USD 567,000.00 (€ 579,576.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 280,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ram Kumar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vagabond sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of USD 1,161,000.00 (€ 734,577.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ram Kumar erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Girl) für USD 567.000,00 (€ 579.576,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 280.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ram Kumar; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Vagabond im März 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 1.161.000,00 (€ 734.577,67).
