Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Piccadilly Circus, London by Randolph Schwabe was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 733.90). Admittedly, works by Randolph Schwabe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gypsy Girl Kneeling; With 14 Drawings By The Same Hand in March 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,893.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Piccadilly Circus, London von Randolph Schwabe im November 2019 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 625,00 (€ 733,90) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Randolph Schwabe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gypsy Girl Kneeling; With 14 Drawings By The Same Hand im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.893,49).
