Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Raphael Soyer could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Living With Art auction, the work The Seamstress changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,900.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Raphael Soyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Passerby in December 2009 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 60,354.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Raphael Soyer konnte im Februar 2016 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Living With Art wechselte die Arbeit The Seamstress für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.900,99) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raphael Soyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Passerby im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 60.354,45).
