Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Post-Millennium Evening Sale, which included the work Untitled Mask Collage by Rashid Johnson. The price achieved of HKD 2,898,000.00 (€ 359,618.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,000,000.00 – 4,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rashid Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Surrender Painting "Sunshine" in November last year with an auction result of USD 3,000,000.00 (€ 2,906,131.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Post-Millennium Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled Mask Collage von Rashid Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.898.000,00 (€ 359.618,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 2.000.000,00 – 4.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rashid Johnson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Surrender Painting "Sunshine" im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.000.000,00 (€ 2.906.131,94).
