Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rembrandt van Rijn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December this year. In the The Sam Josefowitz Collection: Graphic Masterpieces by Rembrandt van Rijn auction, the work The Artist's Mother seated at a Table, looking right: three Quarter Length sold for GBP 50,400.00 (€ 58,058.87) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rembrandt van Rijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 19,803,750.00 (€ 31,547,196.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rembrandt van Rijn erzielte im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Sam Josefowitz Collection: Graphic Masterpieces by Rembrandt van Rijn wurde die Arbeit The Artist's Mother seated at a Table, looking right: three Quarter Length für GBP 50.400,00 (€ 58.058,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rembrandt van Rijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz.
