The work The Ringball Player (‘Het Klosbaantje’) by Rembrandt van Rijn was auctioned at Christies in London in December this year. It achieved a price of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,223.55), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rembrandt van Rijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 19,803,750.00 (€ 31,547,196.55).

Die Arbeit The Ringball Player (‘Het Klosbaantje’) von Rembrandt van Rijn kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.223,55) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rembrandt van Rijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.803.750,00 (€ 31.547.196,55).
