Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Richard Diebenkorn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2021. In the Fields of Vision: The Private Collection of Artists Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason Live Sale auction, the work Cups Ii sold for USD 1,470,000.00 (€ 1,205,510.91) - well above the upper estimate of USD 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Diebenkorn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recollections of a Visit to Leningrad in November this year with an auction result of USD 46,410,000.00 (€ 42,546,754.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
