Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pierrot and Columbina by Richard Geiger was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,477.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Richard Geiger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Concerto nel bosco in December 2001 with an auction result of ITL 12,250,000.00 (€ 11,010.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pierrot and Columbina von Richard Geiger kam im Mai 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.477,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Geiger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Concerto nel bosco im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von ITL 12.250.000,00 (€ 11.010,00).
