Auction result well in line with expectations
The work All I've Heard by Richard Prince was auctioned at Christies in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,420,000.00 (€ 3,312,990.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Prince - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Runaway Nurse, which sold at auction in June 2021 for HKD 93,986,000.00 (€ 10,209,316.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit All I've Heard von Richard Prince kam im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.420.000,00 (€ 3.312.990,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Prince mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Runaway Nurse beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für HKD 93.986.000,00 (€ 10.209.316,51) versteigert wurde.
