This artwork by Robert Cleminson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2006. In the Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs auction, the work Retrieving; And Pointing sold for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,553.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Cleminson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gambols Disturbed sold at auction in December 2005 with the realized price of USD 10,800.00 (€ 9,120.08).
