In the Photographs Including Property Sold to Benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation auction, the work Le baiser de l'Hôtel de Ville, 1950 sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,240.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Doisneau; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Selected Images sold at auction in April 2007 with the realized price of USD 48,000.00 (€ 35,139.09).
