Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the garden by Robert Payton Reid was sold in the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,172.50 (€ 4,595.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Payton Reid - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work All in a Garden Fair; and When the Thorn is White with Blossom, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 10,575.00 (€ 18,075.70).

Die Arbeit In the garden von Robert Payton Reid wurde im März 2003 in der Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.172,50 (€ 4.595,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
