This artwork by Roberto Fabelo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2020. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Viaje al jardín fantástico sold for USD 399,000.00 (€ 338,882.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Roberto Fabelo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Perrerío sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of USD 579,600.00 (€ 522,491.66).
