Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Drought, 1994 by Ronald Lockett was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,346.94). Other works by Ronald Lockett have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2019 by the work Don't Look Back, circa 1990 at USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,184.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Drought, 1994 von Ronald Lockett im Januar 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.346,94) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Ronald Lockett wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Januar 2019 die Arbeit Don't Look Back, circa 1990 mit USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.184,91).
