This artwork by Rory McEwen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2008. In the West ~ East - The Niall Hobhouse Collection auction, the work Redcliffe Square, London (1979) sold for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,335.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rory McEwen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot An autumn leaf sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,310.49).
