In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work A view across the coast by Rowland Hill. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,179.27), 44% above the upper estimate. With this result, A view across the coast is even the most expensive work of art by Rowland Hill that we have observed at auctions so far.
