Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work When In-Laws Come to Visit by Roy Andersen was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,383.19). Admittedly, works by Roy Andersen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Voice of the Deep Quiet in August 2021 with an auction result of USD 50,312.50 (€ 42,637.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit When In-Laws Come to Visit von Roy Andersen im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.383,19) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roy Andersen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Voice of the Deep Quiet im August 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.312,50 (€ 42.637,71).
