Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still life with lamp, c.1946 by Roy De Maistre was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of AUD 79,950.00 (€ 47,919.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roy De Maistre - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian New Atlantis, which sold at auction in November 2009 for AUD 222,000.00 (€ 135,370.55).

Die Arbeit Still life with lamp, c.1946 von Roy De Maistre kam im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 79.950,00 (€ 47.919,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 60.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Roy De Maistre mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian New Atlantis beobachtet, die im November 2009 für AUD 222.000,00 (€ 135.370,55) versteigert wurde.
