Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Weasel (Itachi) by Sakai Hoitsu for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,333.67). This price was achieved in the auction Sacred and Imperial: The James and Marilynn Alsdorf Collection Part II at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sakai Hoitsu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chofu Jewel River in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 113,525.00 (€ 92,356.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Weasel (Itachi) von Sakai Hoitsu für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.333,67) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Sacred and Imperial: The James and Marilynn Alsdorf Collection Part II bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sakai Hoitsu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chofu Jewel River im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.525,00 (€ 92.356,82).
