Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Salomon van Abbé could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work Portrait of a bearded gentleman, small quarter-length, in a blue hat changed hands for GBP 84.00 (€ 123.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Admittedly, works by Salomon van Abbé have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Edmund Blampied in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 500.00 (€ 597.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Salomon van Abbé konnte im Januar 2006 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Pictures wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of a bearded gentleman, small quarter-length, in a blue hat für GBP 84,00 (€ 123,12) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Salomon van Abbé auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Edmund Blampied im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 500,00 (€ 597,50).
