This artwork by Sam Szafran achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in December 2020. In the Art Contemporain Evening Sale auction, the work Untitled (Plants with Skylight) sold for EUR 375,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sam Szafran - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L’Imprimerie Bellini, which sold at auction in December 2019 for EUR 876,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sam Szafran erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Plants with Skylight) für EUR 375.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sam Szafran mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit L’Imprimerie Bellini beobachtet, die im Dezember 2019 für EUR 876.500,00 versteigert wurde.
