Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Le Chef: Celui Qui A Vendu L’Afrique Aux Colons (The Chief who Sold Africa to the Colonists) by Samuel Fosso was sold in the A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection auction at Christies in London in October last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,486.18). Other works by Samuel Fosso have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 22,680.00 (€ 26,643.16) in March 2021 for the work La femme américaine libérée des années 70, Tati Series, 1997.
