Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Returning From Fishing by Seah Kim Joo was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 20,400.00 (€ 2,184.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Seah Kim Joo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boat Quay (Cityscape) in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 12,381.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Returning From Fishing von Seah Kim Joo kam im April 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 20.400,00 (€ 2.184,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Seah Kim Joo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boat Quay (Cityscape) im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 12.381,95).
