Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Shahzia Sikander achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Elusive Realities 2 sold for GBP 77,500.00 (€ 87,396.09) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shahzia Sikander - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Veil 'N Trail, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 325,000.00 (€ 208,761.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shahzia Sikander erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Elusive Realities 2 für GBP 77.500,00 (€ 87.396,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shahzia Sikander mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Veil 'N Trail beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 325.000,00 (€ 208.761,56) versteigert wurde.
