Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Appreciating Plum Blossoms by Shen Shijia was worth HKD 35,280.00 (€ 3,996.20) to a buyer in December 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 8,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shen Shijia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape After Tang Poetry in October 2020 with an auction result of HKD 529,200.00 (€ 58,613.21).

Die Arbeit Appreciating Plum Blossoms von Shen Shijia war einem Käufer im Dezember 2021 HKD 35.280,00 (€ 3.996,20) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 8.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shen Shijia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape After Tang Poetry im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 529.200,00 (€ 58.613,21).
