Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Fishing off the Mount by Simeon Stafford. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,167.50 (€ 2,544.85). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simeon Stafford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Playing Catch With Ruby, St. Michael'S Mount, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 4,250.00 (€ 5,951.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishing off the Mount von Simeon Stafford zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.167,50 (€ 2.544,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Simeon Stafford mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Playing Catch With Ruby, St. Michael'S Mount beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 4.250,00 (€ 5.951,10) versteigert wurde.
