Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Purism and Beyond: A Modern Collection, which included the work Untitled (recto/verso) by Simon Hantaï. The price achieved of EUR 52,920.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon Hantaï achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work M.A.4 (Mariale) in December 2016 with an auction result of EUR 4,432,500.00.
