Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A girl on the beach by Simon Maris was sold in the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2005. The price achieved of EUR 4,800.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Maris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two young girls in the dunes, which sold at auction in March 2000 for NLG 23,404.00 (€ 9,956.60).

Die Arbeit A girl on the beach von Simon Maris wurde im Januar 2005 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 4.800,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon Maris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Two young girls in the dunes beobachtet, die im März 2000 für NLG 23.404,00 (€ 9.956,60) versteigert wurde.
