In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction TOMASSO II, which included the work The Virgin and Child with Saints John the Baptist and Benedict by Simone Peterzano. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 63,000.00 (€ 74,637.98), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simone Peterzano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Allegory Of Music, which sold at auction in July 2009 for GBP 181,250.00 (€ 205,664.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion TOMASSO II durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Virgin and Child with Saints John the Baptist and Benedict von Simone Peterzano zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 63.000,00 (€ 74.637,98) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Simone Peterzano mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Allegory Of Music beobachtet, die im Juli 2009 für GBP 181.250,00 (€ 205.664,42) versteigert wurde.
