Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Yseult by Francis Bernard Dicksee was auctioned at Christies in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 750,000.00 (€ 649,238.23). Other works by Francis Bernard Dicksee have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2019 by the work British Yseult at USD 1,155,000.00 (€ 1,015,027.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Yseult von Francis Bernard Dicksee im Oktober 2021 bei Christies versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 750.000,00 (€ 649.238,23) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Francis Bernard Dicksee wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2019 die Arbeit British Yseult mit USD 1.155.000,00 (€ 1.015.027,68).
