Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Black & White Painting by Terry Frost was sold in the Modern British Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in June 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,635.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Terry Frost have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walk Along The Quay in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 457,250.00 (€ 580,941.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Black & White Painting von Terry Frost wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 70.635,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Terry Frost auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walk Along The Quay im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 457.250,00 (€ 580.941,27).
